The monthly electricity rates can be fixed as low as $49 a month (7,500kWh) to $69 a month (12,500kWh). Government incentives & solar rebates

From July 1st, eligible Victorian households will be able to receive two forms of rebates via the Solar Homes rebate where you can receive up to 50% off your solar home battery system, in addition to the Federal government Small-scale Renewable Energy Scheme. Once the Solar Homes program resumes, the new battery rebate will be worth up to $4,839 and will be open to renters. As part of the scheme, the interest-free loan will also enable households to install half price solar with no up-front cost.

Please note: homeowners will only be eligible for one rebate across the Solar Homes program. These rebates will be applicable to solar and batteries installed after July 1st 2019, and households will need to confirm their eligibility.
